DAVID COLEMAN AND MINISTER SIMON BIRMINGHAM VISIT ST GEORGE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL IN HURSTVILLE
Mr David Coleman MP, Federal Member for Banks, and Minister for Education, Simon Birmingham, today visited the St George Christian School in Hurstville.
Mr Coleman and Minister Birmingham were given a tour of the school by Principal James Honor.
Principal Honor described the history of the school and how it has progressively grown over the years.
Mr Coleman and the Minister visited several classes including a group of year 6 students who had recently visited Parliament House in Canberra.
The visit also enabled Mr Coleman and Minister Birmingham to have morning tea with several members of the schools’ Parent Connect Group.
“The St George Christian School is a great independent school in our community,” Mr Coleman said. “There is a strong community that has built up around the school.”
“Under the new school funding model the St George Christian School will receive approximately $5.6 million in 2018 rising to more than $7.2 million in 2027 representing increased funding of more than $9.7 million over the next 10 years,” Mr Coleman said. “The successful passage of the schools legislation through Parliament in June will lead to every school in Banks being allocated an increasing amount of funding each year.”
