FEDERAL BUDGET SECURES BLACK SPOT FUNDING FOR LOCAL PROJECTS

Mr David Coleman MP, Federal Member for Banks, is pleased that the Budget has secured funding for Black Spot funding in our local area.

The Federal Government will provide $193,000 to install a single lane roundabout at the intersection of Belmore Road, Clarendon Road and Richards Avenue.

In previous years the Federal Government has funded the roundabout at the intersection of Edgbaston Road and Mercury Street Beverly Hills and the extension of the metal safety barrier on Hillcrest Avenue in Oatley.

“The Federal Government’s Blackspot programme has resulted in great enhancements to road safety across the country.”  Mr Coleman said.

“It is great to see federal funding being provided to enhance road safety in our local area.  Everyone who drives on these sections of road will understand the need for these projects.  .  The Federal Government has delivered the funding and now it is now up to council to deliver the project.”

The Federal Government has committed $684.5 million to fixing Black Spots across the country from 2013-14 to 2020-2021.
