David Coleman, the Federal Member for Banks, has welcomed news that a new synthetic football field will be constructed at Peakhurst Park, thanks to $500, 000 in Federal funding.
Georges River Council will be receiving $500, 000 to execute the Peakhurst Park Development project, which will also see new seating facilities installed in addition to the new field.
In welcoming the news, Mr Coleman has noted the need for top-quality sporting facilities in the local area.
“Having good quality sporting facilities is important for many in the local community,” Mr Coleman said. “This new field will enable players to play sport all year round, as it will not face the same wear and tear as ordinary grass fields.”
“Peakhurst Park will soon become a new centre for football in the area, thanks to this new field.”
“I’m glad to have been able to secure these funds.”
