PRIME MINISTER TURNBULL ANNOUNCES NO JAB NO PLAY POLICY AT EVATT PARK IN LUGARNO
On Sunday March 12 Federal Member for Banks, David Coleman MP, joined Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull at Evatt Park in Lugarno to announce the government’s No Jab, No Pay, No Play policy.
The No Jab, No Pay, No Play policy requires all children attending childcare centres and preschools across Australia to have had all vaccinations required by the Australian schedules.
‘This policy will lead to a standardised approach across the nation and remove the ability of parents to ‘opt out’ of the current state based systems’, Mr Coleman said.
‘We’re calling on the states and territories to support a concerted national policy so that children who are not vaccinated cannot attend preschool or childcare centres. Without a medical exemption, any child that is not vaccinated should not be able to attend preschool or childcare centres. That’s for everybody’s benefit’, Mr Turnbull said.
‘We are very pleased that the government is taking these steps to safeguard our children’, said Eva Luo, a Hurstville resident and mother of Jaclyn, 3, and Sukie who is 8 months old.
‘This is great news for hardworking families in Banks who will be able to have even greater confidence that their children are safe whilst in care’ said Mr Coleman.
The No Jab, No Pay, No Play policy will be discussed at the next COAG leaders meeting which will be held later this year.
