David Coleman, the Federal Member for Banks, has today announced $400,000 Federal funding to help deliver Hurstville Rotary’s Kids at Play Project, located in the Children’s Ward at St George Public Hospital.
The project, which was conceived by Hurstville Rotary, will see the refreshment of the existing outdoor play area, including the provision of a roof to protect from adverse weather conditions.
The initiative will also see a new indoor playroom, which will provide an activity space for younger children as well as act as a waiting room for day patients. The new parents retreat will provide for a comfortable space for parents and carers at the hospital.
“The existing facilities are outdated, and this project will be of great benefit to the kids and their families,” Mr Coleman said.
“I am very pleased that the Federal Government has been able to provide this funding to support a great local initiative,” Mr Coleman said.
