David Coleman, the Federal Member for Banks, was recently joined by representatives from the Bankstown City Netball Association to announce that $600, 000 in Federal funding will be spent on constructing a new netball facility in Padstow.
The Association will receive $600, 000 which will go towards constructing hardground courts at Clarke Reserve in Padstow. Currently, these courts are grass only. In addition, the funding will be used to improve lighting at Smith Park which is the court used by the East Hills Bullettes.
Mr David Coleman has welcomed the recent funding announcement, noting the need for a new netball facility in our local area.
“For too long local netball players and their families in the southern-Bankstown area have had to travel out to Condell Park for training and competitions due to a lack of facilities in our local area – this is not good enough,” Mr Coleman said. “This funding will mean that players in southern Bankstown will have a quality facility in our local area.”
“I am pleased we have been able to secure this funding, and want to thank everyone in the local netball community for the time they put into volunteering in the sport,” Mr Coleman said.
Secretary of the Association, Miss Tara Banbury, has also welcomed news of this funding.
“The Association is excited to see these upgrades go ahead, and to witness the positive impact they will have for local athletes and their families who will now have access to top-notch facilities locally,” Miss Banbury said.
