Federal Member for Banks, Mr David Coleman MP has welcomed the announcement of the Armistice Centenary Grants Program.
The program provides $7.5 million in grant funding for community activities commemorating the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War in 2018.
Under the program each Federal Electorate will receive $50,000 to mark the Armistice Centenary in a manner.
“Next year marks the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War in 2018 and many of our community organisations will wish to mark this significant milestone,” Mr Coleman said. “I will be consulting with local community groups to determine how these funds can be used the greatest benefit.”
“Applications open on 11 November 2017 and close on 28 February 2018. Expressions of interest should be lodged with my office prior to the applications opening,” Mr Coleman said.
