Mr David Coleman MP, Federal Member for Banks, has announced that funding for Black Spots in our local area has been secured in the federal budget.

The projects which will be funded include:

1. Padstow: $260,000  for the section of Sphinx Avenue from Cahors Road to Pyramid Avenue to install a single lane roundabout and raised threshold

2. Panania: $190,000 for the section of Marco Avenue from Knight Avenue to Anderson Avenue to install raised islands with a pedestrian gap, install a holding line, paint island faces, install raised pavement markers and upgrade the Give Way sign to Stop.

“The Federal Government’s Blackspot programme has resulted in great enhancements to road safety in the Bankstown area.”  Mr Coleman said.

“It is great to see further Federal funding being provided to enhance road safety in our local area.  Everyone who drives on these sections of road will understand the need for these projects.  I look forward to seeing these improvements implemented by the council”.  Mr Coleman said.
