Roads in Riverwood, Hurstville and Blakehurst will be repaired thanks to over $300,000 in grants to local councils under the Australian Government’s Roads to Recovery programme.
Federal Member for Banks, David Coleman MP, said that the payment under the Roads to Recovery programme will allow council to direct local road funding where it is needed most.
“The condition of our local roads is one of the most common issues raised with me,” Mr Coleman said.
“I know that this funding will go a long way towards fixing some of these problems”.
Kogarah City Council will receive over $200,000 to reseal Ormonde Parade, Hurstville and Woniora Road, Blakehurst.
Canterbury City Council will receive nearly $100,000 and has earmarked Iluka Street and Endeavour Place in Riverwood to be repaired and resurfaced. Work is due to be completed by the end of March.
