Federal Member for Banks, David Coleman MP, hosted a Bushfire Forum for residents of the Padstow Heights area on 14 December 2016.
The Bushfire Forum provided local residents with the opportunity to raise their concerns relating to bushfires in the presence of fire mitigation experts.
“Bushfire safety is a major issue in Padstow Heights, and it was good for residents to be able to raise their concerns with local fire authorities.” Mr Coleman said.
Representatives from the NSW Fire Service, NSW Fire and Rescue, the National Parks and Wildlife Service and Canterbury-Bankstown Council attended the event, alongside over 50 local residents.
“I would like to thank everyone who attended the Bushfire Forum to discuss this important issue,” David said.
During the Forum, residents raised concerns about a number of different locations in Padstow Heights. Fire authorities will be assessing these locations for any potential bushfire risks.
