David Coleman, the Federal Member for Banks, has welcomed news that East Hills Baseball Club will receive $250, 000 in Federal funding to help cover the costs of lighting upgrades at Kelso North Baseball Complex.

Kelso North has been the home ground for East Hills Baseball Club since 1995.

The Club plans on using this funding to improve lighting at the complex, which will enable local sport teams to use the existing facilities in low-light conditions.

Mr Coleman was joined by representatives from East Hills Baseball Club recently at Kelso North Park, to discuss how this funding boost will benefit local athletes and their families.

“It is important that lighting standards at local sporting facilities are up to scratch for both residents and sporting organisations,” David said. “This funding will do just that, by improving visibility and accessibility at the Kelso North Baseball Complex.”

“I’m glad to have been able to secure this much-needed funding,” Mr Coleman said.

President of the East Hills Baseball Club, Mr Peter Archer, has also welcomed news of this funding boost.

“This funding will go a long way in helping the Club improve baseball facilities for our local athletes,” Mr Archer said. “It will also enable our players to play in night games and fully utilise the facilities to their full potential.”

“We really appreciate the support we have been given, and look forward to seeing these upgrades go ahead,” Mr Archer said.
