FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES FUNDING FOR MARIST CATHOLIC COLLEGE PENSHURST

David Coleman MP, Federal Member for Banks, recently announced more than $2.4 million in funding under the Federal Government’s Capital Grants Programme for building developments at Marist Catholic College, Penshurst.

“This funding will go towards Stage 3 developments at the school”, Mr Coleman said.

“Developments include music performance spaces, commercial kitchen, multipurpose theatrette, cafeteria and 4 general learning spaces”, Mr Coleman said.

“Marist Catholic College has a great reputation for its strong academic, sporting and co-curricular programmes”.

“These new facilities will allow the school to build upon that”.

Marist Catholic College is currently undergoing major change as it transitions to a coeducational facility.

Principal of Marist Catholic College, Mr John Finneran said it is an exciting time of growth at the College.

“This year has seen the introduction of Years 11 and 12, and coeducation in Year 7”.

“It is great that more local students will have the opportunity to benefit from the expansion and upgrade of the school”.

Stage 3 development work is due to be completed by the end of 2017.

Stage 2 which also has Federal Government Capital Grant funding will be completed in 2016.
