David Coleman MP, Federal Member for Banks, is hosting the Banks Junior Short Film Contest at 7pm on October 28 at Beverly Hills Cinema.
The event is supported by both Beverly Hills Cinema and Shopfront Theatre, Carlton. All finds raised from the event will go to St Vincent de Paul.
Young filmmakers from the Banks electorate were invited to make short films that encapsulate the theme ‘why we love our local area’.
“I started the Short Film Contest because I believe it is important to acknowledge the talents that our local students possess in the arts”.
“We have had some great entries from kids at local schools”, Mr Coleman said.
The films from the finalists will be screened on the night.
The winners will be judged by a panel of representatives from Beverly Hills Cinema and Shopfront Theatre, Carlton.
“All local residents are welcome to come along to the screening”, Mr Coleman said.
In order to reserve your tickets for the screening, please call 9771 3400. Tickets will be $15 for adults and $10 for children.
