David Coleman MP, Federal Member for Banks, yesterday hosted a forum for local veterans, with the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, the Hon. Michael Ronaldson.
“Veterans are very important members of our community, and they often face issues that are unique to their circumstances,” Mr Coleman said.
“Because of this, I thought it was really important to have Minister Ronaldson come to Banks to answer any questions that local veterans may have.
“The turnout showed that it was important to hold the meeting. We had members of Penshurst RSL Sub-branch, Oatley RSL Sub-branch, Mortdale RSL Sub-branch and Riverwood Legion in attendance”.
The forum was hosted at Penshurst RSL Club and Mr John Hoban, President of the Penshurst RSL Sub-branch, acted as master of ceremonies.
“It was a very useful exercise in bringing together the local branches to hear straight from the horse’s mouth about issues facing veterans,” Mr Hoban said.
“The Minister answered all of our questions, and was very straightforward and forthright. It was great to have him there”.
