I am writing to you today in regards to Council’s decision to withdraw its plans to rezone the site of the former Oatley Bowling Club.
As you may be aware, Georges River Council had intended to rezone the site to allow for the development of a multi-storey aged care facility.
Our community had concerns about the impact this proposal would have on local traffic, as well as nearby bushland at Myles Dunphy Reserve.
Since 2016 I have opposed this plan, and have conducted multiple community surveys on the issue. I have also represented the views of residents to Council on many occasions.
Thank you to everyone who has contacted me in regards to this issue – I am glad the site will now remain as public land.
I would be happy to assist you with any further queries on this issue or any other matter you may have in the future.
