I wanted to get in touch with you to let you know about the support we have been able to secure for netball in southern Bankstown. Netball is a very important part of our local community, but for too long has not received the funding it needs and deserves.
The Bankstown City Netball Association will be receiving $600, 000 from the Federal Government, which will go towards constructing hard courts at Clarke Reserve, Padstow. At present these courts are grass only, and hard courts are needed to bring the playing conditions up to an appropriate standard.
For too long local netball players and their families have had to travel to Condell Park for training and competitions due to a lack of facilities in our local area - this is not good enough. This funding will mean that players in southern Bankstown will have a quality facility in our local area
In addition, the funding will be used to improve lighting at the court used by the East Hills Bullettes.
I am pleased we have been able to secure this funding, and want to thank everyone in the local netball community for the time they put into volunteering in the sport.
Please feel free to get in touch with myself or my office if you have any concerns or questions about this matter, or any other issue I may be able to assist with.
