DAVID COLEMAN MP HOSTS SECOND ANNUAL BANKS JUNIOR SHORT FILM CONTEST

Federal Member for Banks, David Coleman MP, hosted the second annual Banks Junior Short Film Contest on November 16 2016.

The Banks Junior Short Film Contest is an opportunity for primary and secondary students to showcase their filmmaking skills, while celebrating the local area. This year saw a record number of entries across both individual and group categories. Over 40 students from 8 schools across the electorate contributed to the entries.

The screening was held at the Beverly Hills Cinema, and was co-sponsored by the Shopfront Arts Co-op at Carlton

“It was a terrific night. The films were fantastic and were from a wide range of schools in our area with a diverse range of filmmaking styles,” Mr Coleman said.

“I would like to congratulate all the category winners and the finalists on their high quality films. In particular, I would like to congratulate Vincent Vangi from Mater Dei Primary School for winning the primary individual category.”

“I would also like to congratulate Oatley Public School, who won the primary group category—and particularly Liv Coxsedge, Chaila Olliffe and Abby Coxsedge for all their great work,” Mr Coleman said.
