FEDERAL FUNDING FOR OATLEY LIONS

Federal Member for Banks, David Coleman MP, has announced that the Lions Club of Oatley will receive funding from the Australian Government to assist with the Oatley Village Festival. Mr Coleman recommended the funding grant late last year.

The Lions Club of Oatley will receive $10,000 under the Government’s Stronger Communities Programme to go towards running the annual Oatley Village Festival. The funding will be used to purchase a laptop, storage facility, box trailer and portable generator.

“The Oatley Village Festival is a highlight on the community calendar each year”, Mr Coleman said.

“The Oatley Lions is a great organisation and this funding will assist the Club in organising and running the Festival”.

Mr Bryan Pirie, Major Events Coordinator of the Oatley Lions, said this funding was much needed.

“The Oatley Village Festival provides a great opportunity for local community groups to promote their activities”, Mr Pirie said.

“This funding will greatly assist the Lions in running the event”.
