David Coleman, the Federal Member for Banks, has welcomed news that St. George’s Hurstville Anglican Church has received $57,000 in Federal funding to help the local community.
St. George’s Hurstville Anglican Church is using the funding to help run support groups for local residents. The church is running a number of groups including a mother’s support group, youth homework club as well as language classes.
Mr Coleman welcomed this funding announcement, noting the positive impact that the services will have.
“St. George’s Hurstville Anglican Church does important work in our local community, helping those who need it the most,” Mr Coleman said.
“I’m glad we have been able to secure this funding.”
Church Executive of St. George’s Hurstville Anglican Church, Mr Sunny Yu, has also noted the impact that this funding will have.
“This funding has allowed us to reach members of the community who may need some extra support,” Mr Yu said.
“These support groups are encouraging members of the community to come together, towards being part of a resilient and strong community.”
